At The First National Bank of Bryan, the basis of all customer relationships, many of which span generations, is trust. We understand the importance you place on the privacy and security of information that personally identifies your or your account information.
We believe the confidentiality and protection of customer information is one of our fundamental responsibilities. At the same time, we want to offer you the array of financial products and services you need to accomplish your financial goals. We believe we can do both through the privacy policy outlined below.
If you end your customer relationship with us or become an inactive customer, we will maintain the confidentiality of this nonpublic personal information to the same extent that we do for continuing customers.
Information We Collect
We collect, retain and use information about you that we reasonably believe will help administer our business or provide products, services, and other opportunities to you. We collect and use this information to protect and administer your records, accounts, and funds; to comply with certain laws and regulations; to help us design or improve our products and services; to understand your financial needs so that we can provide you with quality products and superior service; and to protect against fraud. Some of the information that we collect about you is considered "nonpublic personal information," which generally means information about you that you have provided to us in order to obtain financial products or services, information that we have obtained about you from other sources in connection with providing such services or products, or information about you that results from our furnishing financial services or products to you. - your browser, when you visit our website and your browser interacts with us;
- your transactions with us, our corporate family or others; and
- consumer-reporting agencies.
Information We Share With Our Corporate Family
Unless you tell us not to, we may share any of the personal information that we collect about you with companies in our corporate family. The Fair Credit Reporting Act gives you the opportunity to limit the sharing of “non experience information” within our corporate family. “Non-experience information” includes information that is used, expected to be used, or collected for the purpose of establishing your eligibility for consumer credit, insurance or deposit accounts, and is not related solely to your transactions or other experiences with us, and includes:
- Information we obtain from your application, such as your income, or your marital status;
- Information we obtain from a consumer report, such as your credit score or credit history;
- Information we obtain to verify representations made by you, such as your open lines of credit, outstanding balances on other loans, or income verifications; and
- Information we obtain from a person regarding its employment, credit, or other relationship with you, such as your employment history, or your payment history on loans you have with that other person;
Companies in our corporate family who may receive this information are:
- Financial service providers, such as mortgage bankers, broker-dealers, and insurance agents; and
- Non-financial service providers, such as retailers, direct marketers, and publishers.
If you prefer that we not share non-experience information about you with companies in our corporate family, you may direct us not to share this information by notifying our Customer Service Department, in writing, of your objections at First National Bank of Bryan Customer Service, 1862 Rock Prairie Road, College Station, TX 77840.
An "opt-out" notification form is provided for this purpose below, which may be detached and mailed to us at the above address. If you have received this Privacy Notice in connection with any joint relationship, such as a joint account, or a loan for which you are jointly liable with another, your instructions not to release information to companies in our corporate family will relate only to such information as it relates to you, unless your written instruction not to share information is also provided on behalf of a joint accountholder or co-borrower that you specifically name in such instruction.
Information We Share Outside Our Corporate Family
To better serve your banking needs, we may enter into a joint marketing agreement with another financial institution, not affiliated with us, to make products or services that are generally not offered by First National available to you. The non-affiliated third parties with whom we enter into joint marketing agreements include
- mortgage companies and mortgage brokers,
- credit card issuers,
- providers of annuities, mutual funds and other retail non-deposit products,
- originators and/or guarantors of specialized guaranteed loan programs,
- and a wide array of other programs.
In addition, we may enter into agreements with unaffiliated companies, such as marketing research and consulting firms, direct mail companies, and telemarketers, to provide marketing services for us in connection with the products that First National directly offers.
The categories of information that we may share with these non-affiliated third parties include:
- Information we receive from you on applications or other forms such as your name, address and phone number;
- Information about your transactions with our affiliates, such as your account balances, payment history, credit card usage, and products you have obtained from or through us or us.
Each of these third parties is bound by a written agreement that requires such third party and its affiliates to maintain the confidentiality of such information and to refrain from using the information provided for any purpose other than in furtherance of the agreement we have entered into with such third party, or as may otherwise be required by law or authorized by you.
Other Instances of Sharing Information
Other than under the circumstances described above and the other circumstances outlined below, the Bank does not share nonpublic personal information about its consumer customers to unaffiliated third parties. The other exceptions consist of the following circumstances:
- to exchange information with reputable consumer reporting agencies in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act;
- to protect against fraud or any compromise to our security systems;
- as necessary in connection with prospective sales, mergers, or other acquisitions of the Bank's assets or mergers;
- to help process a transaction initiated or authorized by you;
- you request or authorize that the information be revealed;
- the information is provided to your attorneys, accountants, auditors, or any insurance rate advisory organizations;
- originators and/or guarantors of specialized guaranteed loan programs,
- disclosure of such information is required by or allowed by law (e.g. subpoena, investigation of fraudulent activity, request by regulator, etc.).
Measures to Protect the Confidentiality of Information
We will protect the confidentiality of your nonpublic personal information. At First National Bank, employee access to your personal information is limited to those with a business reason to know such information in order to provide products or services to you. Employees are educated on the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of customer information and on the Bank's privacy commitment to you, as contained in this notice, through standard operating procedures, training programs, and its information services and ethics policies. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.
On-Line Communications/Security/E-mail Notifications
Whether you are a customer or just visiting us online, we safeguard the information you provide to us at http://www.fnb-bcs.com. To enhance your online experience with us, we will collect information about you whenever you interact with us online either by receiving and storing information you provide or through the use of identifiers called “cookies”. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you or your computer, and can only be read by a Web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.

If you become our customer, and we think that a particular First National Bank account or service might apply to your situation, we may occasionally contact you at your e-mail address, if you do not object to our contacting you in this fashion, to inform you of potential benefits and availability. Whenever we ask for personal information on our Website, we use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Technology for transferring data. This technology encrypts or scrambles your account and other personal information so it's virtually impossible for anyone other than authorized personnel of the Bank or its service providers to access it.
Children’s Online Information Privacy
We do not knowingly solicit data from children, and we do not knowingly market to children. We recognize that protecting children's identities and privacy online is important and that the responsibility to do so rests with both the online industry and with parents
Medical Information
We recognize that when you provide medical information to us for a specific purpose, you do not wish such information to be used for other purposes. If you provide personal medical information to us, we will not disclose that information unless you authorize such disclosure or unless we are legally required to disclose that information.
Information Accuracy
We have established procedures to encourage the accuracy of the information we maintain about you, in keeping with reasonable commercial standards. We also pledge to respond to requests to correct inaccurate information in a timely manner. If you identify any error in your personal information or need to make a change to that information, please contact us and we will promptly update our records.
